In 2022, a historical announcement was made to officially select the SIG SAUER MCX-SPEAR as the XM7 service rifle by the U.S. Army. In combination with the groundbreaking 6.8x51 hybrid ammunition, the SIG SAUER MCX-SPEAR has become the pinnacle by which rifle capabilities will be judged. Capable of muzzle velocities in excess of 3000FPS with a 113gr bullet out of a 16”barrel, the SIG SAUER MCX-SPEAR rifle is achieving the Army’s goal of advanced performance while also exceeding the requirements for durability. Now for the first time, this technology will be available to the U.S. civilian market with the MCX-SPEAR rifle chambered in 6.8x51.
