Overview
The Springfield Armory Hellion in 5.56 NATO is a semi-automatic bullpup rifle with the action positioned behind the trigger, resulting in a 27.5" overall length despite a 20" hammer-forged steel barrel. The polymer receiver and handguard are finished in black, and the rifle weighs 8.4 lbs with a 30+1 capacity.
The Hellion features a two-position adjustable gas block with normal and suppressed settings, fully ambidextrous controls, and a reversible case ejection system. A Picatinny top rail and spring-loaded flip-up iron sights are standard. The polymer handguard provides nine M-LOK slots for accessory attachment, and the rifle accepts standard AR-15 pattern grips.
