Overview
The Ruger Hawkeye African in .375 Ruger is a bolt-action rifle with a 23" cold hammer-forged, satin blued barrel mounted to a satin blued steel receiver. The American walnut stock features wrap-around checkering on the grip and forend with rounded contours. An express-style windage-adjustable V-notch rear sight and large white bead front sight are fitted, along with integral scope mounts machined into the receiver.
The action uses a non-rotating, Mauser-type controlled round feed extractor and a fixed blade-type ejector, along with a hinged solid-steel floorplate for field unloading.
