Overview
The Ruger Hawkeye African in .300 Win Mag is a bolt-action rifle with a 23" cold hammer-forged, threaded barrel in a satin blued finish. Available as a Sports South distributor exclusive, it holds 3+1 rounds. The non-rotating Mauser-type controlled round feed extractor and fixed blade ejector provide positive feeding and case extraction, while a hinged solid-steel floorplate allows for easy unloading.
Iron sights — an express-style windage-adjustable V-notch rear and a large white bead front — are fitted at the factory. The American Walnut stock features rounded contours and wrap-around checkering on the grip and forend. Scope rings, a barrel band-mounted swivel stud, and an optional forend swivel stud are included.
