Overview
The Springfield Armory XD Service in .40 S&W is a polymer-frame, striker-fired semi-automatic handgun with a 4-inch hammer-forged steel barrel and a forged steel slide, both finished in Melonite. At 7.3 inches overall and 30.0 oz, it holds 10+1 rounds and features a black polymer grip frame with a Picatinny accessory rail.
The Ultra Safety Assurance (USA) Action Trigger System operates alongside a grip safety and firing pin block, providing three layers of passive safety. The slide is equipped with steel 3-dot white dot sights in dovetail mounts, a striker status indicator, a loaded chamber indicator, and an ambidextrous magazine release.
