Overview
The Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy in 9mm Luger is a single-action, hammer-fired semi-automatic pistol with a 5" barrel and 17+1 capacity. It uses a forged steel frame paired with a polymer grip module that accepts double-stack magazines — a departure from the traditional single-stack 1911 layout. The all-black finish covers both the frame and slide.
The Prodigy's slide is optics-ready and the frame includes a Picatinny rail on the dust cover. An ambidextrous thumb safety and fiber optic front sight are fitted from the factory. A 20+1 capacity magazine option is also available per manufacturer information.
